“Why don't you take a bathroom break tomorrow, sneak out the window, get your book signed, and sneak back into class! It wouldn't take long at all!”
Patrick

"Ditchin'" is the second segment of the fourteenth episode of season 6, and it is paired up with "Dear Vikings." In this episode, SpongeBob ditches class in order to get his Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy book signed, but gets distracted on the way back.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

SpongeBob and Patrick watch a commercial for the new Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy book and learn they can get their books signed. However, SpongeBob can't as he has to go to boating school. They try to come up with a solution, and eventually get the idea to have SpongeBob need to go to the bathroom during boating school so he can climb out the bathroom window and go to the comic store to get both of their books signed.

The plan succeeds, but as they are heading back, Patrick starts playing at Jellyfish Fields and SpongeBob joins him. They start heading back again, but stumble upon an ice cream stand and buy some ice cream. Since they were the 100th customer, the cashier allows them to have all the free ice cream they want.

SpongeBob says he needs to head back to class later, but ends up getting distracted when Sandy invites him to play a game of badminton with her friend, Dale. He wins the game, but soon after Dale gets arrested for eating candy fish. After hearing that Dale has lived the life of a criminal ever since he started ditching class, SpongeBob panics and tries to get back to class as soon as possible.

However, he ends up getting distracted at many places until eventually he accidentally falls into the tar pit. As he's about to drown, he remembers that Mrs. Puff wanted the bathroom key back. He gets out and quickly gets back to the boating school to give back the key, only to see Mrs. Puff get arrested for ditching jury duty.
