"Roller Cowards" is the first segment of the sixth episode of season 5, and it is paired with "Bucket Sweet Bucket." In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick go on the Fiery Fist O' Pain at Glove World!, but the two try to keep their fears of the ride from each other.

Plot[edit]
Patrick busts into SpongeBob's house and shows him a commercial for a new ride at Glove World! called the Fiery Fist O' Pain and says they must go when it opens tomorrow. Later, SpongeBob has a nightmare about the new ride before he wakes up and he and Patrick go to the bus driving to Glove World!, and try to make it seem to each other that they are excited.
As they are entering, they pretend to have forgotten their tickets, only for the employee to find them in their back pockets. They realize the line is long, so they pass time with SpongeBob taking a picture of Patrick Glovey Glove and riding a kiddy ride which they get frightened of. They go back to the Fiery Fist O' Pain, but run off to the bathroom when they see a guy who seemingly got hurt from the ride.
Larry comes by and makes the two smell his armpits as he has the smell of adrenaline from the ride, only for SpongeBob and Patrick to run off and eat ice cream. While eating, Patrick goes to the bathroom to wash his face, and has an argument with himself in the mirror about his fear of the ride, while SpongeBob argues the same thing with his ice cream. They reunite and almost confess their fears to each other, only to realize the park is closing soon, so they go to the Fiery Fist O' pain.
After reading all the things the ride might cause, the two finally go on the ride. However, the ride ends up going through technical difficulties, so SpongeBob and Patrick confess that they were scared to go to the ride but they won't have to conquer their fears as the ride is broken, only for the ride to actually be fine and it starts. They go through the entire experience and end up surviving, with them conquering their fears in the process.
