“I'm going to ace the tryouts today and then I'm going to the finals tomorrow and win the trophy.”
Squidward

"Slimy Dancing" is the third segment of the eighth episode of season 5, and it is paired with "Money Talks" and "SpongeBob vs. The Patty Gadget." In this episode, Squidward gets stuck in SpongeBob while teaching him how to dance for a dance competition, giving him the idea to control SpongeBob's dancing.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

Having practiced for many years, Squidward goes to the Bikini Bottom Dance-a-Thon tryouts so he can get into the competition and win the dancing trophy, while SpongeBob and Patrick also go for their limbo-dancing act. The two make the cut while Squidward fails to get in.

As he goes home, he stumbles upon SpongeBob and Patrick practicing their act. He tells them he got banned for life for being too good, so SpongeBob asks him if he could be their coach. He accepts, but only if he gets the trophy at the end. They make a deal, but while practicing, Patrick gets cramps and rolls out of the house.

Squidward teaches SpongeBob how to dance like him, but eventually slips on a limbo stick and ends up inside SpongeBob. He gets the idea to take control of him so he can still dance at the Dance-a-Thon. During the event, they watch several performers until it's their turn. They start dancing, only for the audience to hate their act and head out.

As the last person is leaving, Squidward gets a cramp and starts going crazy, which the person finds enjoyment in and gets everyone to come back to watch. SpongeBob ends up getting the trophy, but accidentally reveals he got help from Squidward, which is against the rules. It turns out everyone except Patrick had help from someone else, so he gets the reward. After awhile, the cramp becomes a fad with children everywhere.
