“There is only one spatula for me, and that is Spat.”
SpongeBob

"All That Glitters" is the first segment of the twelfth episode of season 4, and it is paired with "Wishing You Well." In this episode, SpongeBob buys a new, fancy spatula after his old one breaks while trying to cook a Monster Krabby Patty.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

At the Krusty Krab, a customer orders a Monster Krabby Patty. When SpongeBob tries to flip it, his spatula breaks. He panics and cries about it at several places until he sends the spatula to the hospital. Mr. Krabs tells him to get a new spatula, but SpongeBob is only suited for one spatula and goes to the hospital to meet his spatula.

He reminisces of all his adventures with his spatula as he sits beside its hospital bed. A doctor tells him to consider a replacement spatula and they are doing what they can, but it turns out he's just an actor. SpongeBob walks out and notices a spatula called “Le Spatula” in a store. He wants to touch it, only for an employee to stop him. He pays him everything he owns including his pants to buy the spatula. Later, he goes to work naked.

Squidward laughs at him while Mr. Krabs investigates. He is impressed at what the spatula can do as he thinks it'll bring more customers as well as money into his pockets. SpongeBob starts cooking, only for Le Spatula to not want to cook as it's designed for more interesting cuisine. It runs out of the restaurant and leaves SpongeBob without anything. He realizes the measure for a good spatula is through its actions rather than how fancy it is.

He goes back to his spatula, only for it to pass away. It turns out that isn't his spatula and his is patched up already. However, the spatula thinks he betrayed him and leaves him, making him upset. He goes to the Krusty Krab without a spatula, only for his spatula to reunite with him. However, they have to cook a Monster Krabby Patty again, this time causing SpongeBob's arms to break.
