Bikini Bottom
Bikini Bottom is an underwater city and the main setting of the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. It is the home of SpongeBob, his friends, and other characters of the show. Although a fictional location, Bikini Bottom is located under a real life coral reef, the Bikini Atoll, which it is also named after.[1] The place was first mentioned in "Plankton!", but its first actual appearance was in "Hall Monitor".
Although it is primarily an urban area, Bikini Bottom features several landscapes, including sea mounts, dense forests, lakes, lagoons, caves, grasslands, reefs, rivers, and barren desert wastelands. The main characters each live in homes outside the main city area. Bikini Bottom features a variety of businesses, and one of its most popular is a fast food restaurant, the Krusty Krab. Some other landmark areas include Jellyfish Fields and Goo Lagoon.
