“"SpongeBob's Place?" What in the ocean?”
Squidward

"SpongeBob's Place" is the first segment of the fifth episode of season 10, and it is paired with "Plankton Gets the Boot." In this episode, SpongeBob cooks from home, which causes the Krusty Krab's customers to head there instead.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

At the Krusty Krab, the customers are enjoying SpongeBob's cooking. Squidward tells Mr. Krabs that the restaurant's popularity is only because of SpongeBob, and that the customers have started calling the Krabby Patty the "SpongeBob Patty." When this begins to catch on, he says that the Krusty Krab should be renamed to "SpongeBob's Place." As the Krusty Krab customers cheer for SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs is jealous and gets him away by lying that the Krusty Krab is haunted.

At SpongeBob's house, he has been getting bored and pretends that his house is the Krusty Krab. After SpongeBob makes some Krabby Patties, he realizes that he does not have anyone to serve them to and sets them on the windowsill. The smell attracts various citizens, who enjoy the patties and want SpongeBob to cook more.

Back at the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs's cooking is awful, and a customer claims that the patties are bad because SpongeBob is not cooking them. As they are about to leave, Mr. Krabs wears a poorly-made SpongeBob costume to attract them back. The customers eat the new patties, which are still as awful, to avoid disappointing "SpongeBob." When Mr. Krabs reveals he cooked the patties, they are disgusted and begin leaving. Mr. Krabs creates a lava moat around the Krusty Krab to trap the customers, but they use him as a bridge instead and leave.

Squidward arrives home to see that SpongeBob's house is now a popular restaurant known as "SpongeBob's Place." He goes home and calls the health department, as Mr. Krabs arrives in an ambulance, burnt from the lava. He investigates the restaurant and sees that SpongeBob is now rich from so many customers, and that he is a better restaurant owner due to his great cooking skills. SpongeBob tells Mr. Krabs that he needs a boss to "take all the credit and the money"; Mr. Krabs accepts.

The next morning, Squidward arrives at the Krusty Krab to find it completely empty, dancing around the place and singing. Meanwhile, the health department has arrived at SpongeBob's Place. Since Mr. Krabs is the boss, he is ordered to shut down the restaurant, due to the health violation of serving food in a pineapple. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob move back into the Krusty Krab, interrupting Squidward's singing. Accepting that SpongeBob is an important part of the restaurant, Mr. Krabs tapes a tiny paper reading "and SpongeBob's Place" onto the Krusty Krab sign.
