“Oh, my darling Amphitrite, it is not my age that troubles me so. It's that our son, Triton, will not be able to share in my revelry.”
King Neptune

"The Clash of Triton" is the twenty-fifth episode of season 6. In this episode, King Neptune is upset because his son won't be able to attend his 5000th birthday party, but when SpongeBob and Patrick release him, he wreaks havoc on Bikini Bottom.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

Queen Amphitrite calls the Krusty Krab to set a reservation to celebrate King Neptune's 5000th birthday. Mr. Krabs sets up a group of watchers for extra money after one citizen wanted to watch the royal family eat through the window, and SpongeBob cooks up 5000 Krabby Patties for the king.

The royal family finally arrive and sit at a fancy table, but when SpongeBob mentions Triton, King Neptune becomes upset. He shows everyone a home movie of how he locked Triton in a cage at the Island in the Sky until he learns to become a proper god. Mr. Krabs tries to give them Krabby Patties, but Neptune has lost his appetite after reminiscing his history with Triton.

In order to fix this, SpongeBob goes up to the Island in the Sky to get Triton. When he reaches his cage, he tries to open the lock to open it, but since it was forged by the gods, it's extremely hard to crack. SpongeBob calls Patrick down to open the magical lock, and succeeds by peeling the squares off and putting them where they're supposed to be.

After getting out, Triton turns the cage into a vehicle and allows SpongeBob and Patrick to be on it. However, halfway through their drive, Triton kicks them out as he doesn't need them anymore. He arrives at the Krusty Krab and traps the royal family along with Mr. Krabs and Squidward, and then proceeds to destroy the town.

SpongeBob and Patrick notice this destruction and sneak into the Krusty Krab using the secret entrance, which leads into the grill. They move the grill near the cage and Patrick unlocks the cage. King Neptune gets angry at Triton for locking him in the cage, and chases him away, only to realize he has destroyed the town.

He says this was the best birthday present he's ever received as Triton finally learned to be a true god. As the royal family takes off, Neptune says this was all because of SpongeBob, which the citizens overhear and riot against him and Patrick for.
