In the game's strings.xml file, there are multiple dialogue tags that are empty: DinersDialogue, MarbleDialogue, SandyWheelDialogue, GardenDialogue, BubbleBuddyDialogue, ArmsHangingDialogue, BookshelfDialogue, BookshelfFrontDialogue, DollDialogue, WormJarDialogue, PillowDialogue, BucketDialogue, HouseDialogue, RocketDialogue, ShelfDialogue, and StatueDialogue. Most of these correspond to used objects in the game, hinting that they would have had dialogue for being clicked on.

In the files for the area outside Sandy's house, a graphic of Sandy's suit being ripped up on the ground is present. An employee at Seven2, the company that developed ''SpongeBob Saves the Day'', confirmed that this was intended as a hint for SpongeBob needing to find a helmet to go inside the treedome.<ref>Tweet by [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268311825621241856 oddheader]: "He gave an answer on Sandy's suit, originally it was supposed to be apart of the puzzle to get inside of Sandy's dome. Clicking on it was supposed to provide a hint, SpongeBob would‘ve said something like “I need to find another helmet to get inside.”"</ref>

YUM, a sprite of a 3D human head with realistic eyes, ears, and mouth can be found in the graphics for the Krusty Krab's dining room. Its filenames are "t_tmpYummer" and "t_tmpYummer2," and its hands have separate graphics. On May 23rd, this graphic was found, and YouTuber "oddheader" investigated. Contact info for a Seven2 dev was found, and on June 3rd, oddheader posted the intent behind the sprite on Twitter. Named "YUM," it originated from a 3D model test, and was used in the company as a placeholder graphic to indicate what still needed to be finished. As ''SpongeBob Saves the Day'' was made to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary, they wanted to have a familiar character popping out from behind a support beam in the Krusty Krab and used YUM as a placeholder. This idea was scrapped, and YUM remains in the files.<ref>Tweets by oddheader: [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268255737073078276 1], [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268256698168414209 2], [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268257486173331459 3], [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268259057892196360 4], [https://twitter.com/oddheader/status/1268259428165443586 5].</ref>
