“There are two kinds of people. There are people that are normal. And then there's you (SpongeBob).”

"Not Normal" is the first segment of the fourth episode of season 6, and it is paired with "Gone." In this episode, SpongeBob becomes "normal" at Squidward's insistence.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

Squidward wakes up to SpongeBob laughing as he runs around his house. He complains and tells him that he's not a normal person. After he goes back to his house, SpongeBob asks him how to be normal, only for Squidward to kick him out. Later, he watches a videotape on how to be "normal."

At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob has a desk at his workstation similar to the one in the video. Throughout the course of a three week period, SpongeBob starts having a good relationship with Squidward, prints Krabby Patties rather than cook them, turns his house to something similar from the tape, and his overall appearance becomes completely "normal."

However, this has some effects on his work, as his printed Krabby Patties now appear flat. Mr. Krabs kicks him out until he starts making patties the right way, and stumbles upon Patrick as he goes home. He wants to play with him, but SpongeBob wants to do something normal, so Patrick walks away.

SpongeBob then goes to Squidward's house, but ends up getting kicked out after criticizing Squidward's lifestyle too much. SpongeBob realizes he's become too "normal," so he asks Patrick for help. He makes SpongeBob do several abnormal activities in order to turn him back to his old-self.

After awhile, SpongeBob goes through the final transformation, only to go back to being "normal." Right after, Squidward enters the house, having become "normal," scaring SpongeBob enough to turn him back to his actual normal self.
