"Shell Shocked" is the second segment of the twenty-first episode of season 6, and it is paired with "Sand Castles in the Sand." In this episode, SpongeBob accidentally breaks Gary's shell, so he goes to Angry Jack's Shell Emporium to get him a new one.

Plot[edit]
SpongeBob wakes up from a nightmare and hears a sound from downstairs. He goes downstairs to investigate, but it turns out the sound was coming from his novelty teeth chattering. He finds his boot hopping around and fights it, but when he smashes it, Gary comes flying out and bounces around until landing in a bucket of soap. After SpongeBob takes the bucket out, Gary's shell breaks.
He tries to fix it by taping it together, but it breaks again. He tries several more alternatives, but Gary dislikes them all. Eventually, SpongeBob sees a commercial for Angry Jack's Shell Emporium, so he goes over there to get Gary a new shell.
However, whenever SpongeBob tries a shell on Gary, he accidentally breaks it. He eventually ends up destroying every shell in the emporium, including the certified indestructible shell. Angry Jack makes SpongeBob pay up his body parts in order to compensate for the damages he caused.
Outside, SpongeBob tries to make a shell out of a box, but realizes it looks terrible on Gary. Mr. Krabs comes out of a nearby dumpster and learns about SpongeBob's situation. He then gets an idea to use Mr. Krabs' shell as Gary's replacement shell in exchange for working at the Krusty Krab for free for a year.
