"Shuffleboarding" is the first segment of the seventeenth episode of season 6, and it is paired up with "Professor Squidward." In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick enter a shuffleboarding contest for Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy while they're injured, but get distracted on their way back.

Plot[edit]
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy go to sleep at Shady Shoals Rest Home, when SpongeBob and Patrick suddenly wake them up. Mermaid Man tries to attack them using a Mermarang as he thinks they're supervillains, but SpongeBob catches it and starts playing with it, causing the residents of Shady Shoals to get hurt. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy escape to the Mermalair, only for SpongeBob and Patrick to also go down there and land on them.
The two are now at the hospital, and SpongeBob and Patrick are there with them. The police commissioner wants Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy to attend at the Bikini Bottom Shuffle Boarding Competition, but they can't come due to their injuries. SpongeBob and Patrick volunteer to impersonate them, so Barnacle Boy gives them their rings so they can turn into their duplicates.
They head off to the competition and end up winning it. As they are walking around, SpongeBob remembers what Barnacle Boy said about the costumes and reminds Patrick about it. However, he says they should pretend to be the heroes to stop people from doing crimes. They start arresting several people for doing minor nuisances, and the jail gets overfilled.
Man Ray is at a laundry place with an old woman, when SpongeBob and Patrick arrive and battle them both. After a long fight, SpongeBob finally traps Man Ray's head in a dryer and shrinks his head down, and afterwards arrests him. They put him in jail, causing it to explode and all the "prisoners" to be let free. SpongeBob and Patrick give back the costumes to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. They come out of the hospital, only to get ambushed by an angry mob.
