Plot[edit]
SpongeBob and Patrick enter Medieval Moments to watch a jousting tournament. Morrie announces the tournament and asks for volunteers. SpongeBob and Patrick want to volunteer, thinking they'll get to watch up close, and they get chosen. They realize they'll actually be participating in the tournament and fight each other while riding seahorses, leading to them getting launched off their rides out of the stadium.
They land in a small field during 12th century Bikini Bottom. They get surrounded by knights and get locked in a dungeon as they think they committed witchcraft. There, they meet Squidly, who was sent to the dungeon for making fun of the king. The dungeon master tells SpongeBob and Patrick the king would like a word with them, and brings Squidly along with them and tells him he has songs he wants to play for the king.
They come into King Krabs' castle, where Squidly sings his song, but it turns out to be a mockery of the king, so he sends the three to the guillotine. Princess Pearl tells him to spare them as the prophecy states two knights will defeat Planktonamor, and that SpongeBob and Patrick are the two knights. Soon after, she gets captured by the dragon jellyfish who crashes into the castle.
King Krabs apologizes to SpongeBob and Patrick and sends them on the journey along with Squidly. They encounter a blacksmith and buy armor and weapons from him. Meanwhile, Plankton watches through Karen the Crystal Ball, while having Pearl tied up. The three head to the bridge leading to Planktonamor's tower, when they encounter the Dark Knight.
SpongeBob realizes she's medieval Sandy and uses karate on her. After a long fight, SpongeBob wins and leaves her unconscious. Patrick wakes her up by gargling and then spitting water on her. She helps them defeat Planktonamor for sparing her and helps them get through the guards of the tower.
They struggle to make it to the top of the tower but eventually make it. SpongeBob attacks Planktonamor and accidentally steps on him, while his powers only tickle SpongeBob. Meanwhile, the rest of the group frees Pearl but she crashes through the tower. Planktonamor sends the dragon jellyfish to attack them. Squidly sings a song for it while the Dark Knight attacks it, but they both fail to stop it.
SpongeBob remembers he got a jellyfish net from the blacksmith and uses it on the jellyfish, but it zaps its way out of the net. Patrick asks if they can eat the Krabby Patties they packed. The jellyfish sniffs and eats one patty. It loves it, so they give him more. Planktonamor asks the jellyfish to destroy them, only for it to zap him.
Everything is back to normal, and SpongeBob and Patrick ride through a cheering crowd on seahorses during a celebration, while King Krabs starts cooking patties. Squidly plays horrible music, so one citizen throws a rock at him. He falls and causes SpongeBob and Patrick's seahorses to fling them away in panic. They wake up and think they were in a dream, only for Squidly to be with them.
