Plot[edit]
Sandy calls SpongeBob to ask him if he could be her test subject for her new invention she will unveil tonight, and he accepts. When he goes down to the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs asks him to put together a build-it-yourself telescope for him tonight. SpongeBob gets nervous as he has to do Sandy's thing on the same night, but ends up accepting the task.
In the kitchen, Patrick comes to tell SpongeBob it is his birthday today and he should bring his birthday cake tonight. At night, SpongeBob is assisting Sandy at her treedome for her presentation, but he remembers to go to Mr. Krabs when she mentions him. While he's at his house, he realizes he needs to obtain a hex drill, so he goes into town to buy one.
When he reaches Tom's Toolery, it is closed, and then remembers Sandy has a hex drill. As he's about to go to her, he stumbles upon Patrick. He reminds him to get a cake, so he goes to the bakery to buy one and then goes back to Sandy's treedome to get her drill. However, Sandy sees him and brings him to the presentation.
She gives him a gown to wear, but he puts the drill in there and tells her it was from the spicy kelp he ate earlier, and quickly runs to Patrick's house. Unfortunately, he forgot the cake, and after he asks for a gift, he wraps the drill and gives it to him. He goes back to Sandy's treedome to get the cake, only for her to bring him back to her presentation. As she's about to demonstrate, SpongeBob remembers about Mr. Krabs and quickly gets out so he can go over to his house.
However, when he reaches there, he forgot the hex drill, so he goes back to Patrick's house, while Mr. Krabs chases him. However, Patrick won't let him take the present until he gets his birthday cake, so he goes back to Sandy's treedome with the other two chasing him. He ends up getting confronted by all three of them, until he tells all of them the truth that he couldn't say no to any of them. It turns out Sandy's invention is a cloning machine, and clones two more SpongeBobs to demonstrate.
