“Thank you for riding with your merry bus driver.”

"Squid's on a Bus" is the second segment of the seventh episode of season 12, and it is paired with "The Krusty Bucket." In this episode, Squidward gets a job as a bus driver, which goes fine until SpongeBob and Patrick ride along.

Squidward is waiting for the bus, and when it arrives late, he boards and pays his fare. During the ride, Squidward complains to the driver about the bus's condition and his driving. When the bus stops at the Krusty Krab, Squidward argues with the bus driver, claiming that he could do a better job. Mr. Krabs switches their jobs to prove it, with the bus driver working as a cashier while Squidward drives the bus. Shortly after, SpongeBob boards the bus, excited to see Squidward.

SpongeBob first takes an entire day to pay, and causes the bus to go off the road after pretending to drive. After SpongeBob disables the break by putting a pillow under it and reveals that he does not actually have a stop, Patrick appears at a bus stop. After he boards, SpongeBob helps him pay the fare. They proceed to shake the bus by swinging from the ceiling, and disrupt the passengers by acting like animals. Angry, Squidward demands that they get off and leaves to find Patrick at the emergency exit.

While he is away from the wheel, the bus crashes in Crush Country. Water leaks into the bus, but Squidward is still able to drive. SpongeBob puts a map upside-down against the window, and flips the bus over to make it right-side up; the bus lands onto a deep-sea vent and rises to the Krusty Krab, crashing into the ceiling. The bus driver is struggling as the cashier, and quits his job. Squidward resumes his duties as cashier, glad that he settled the argument.
