“I was on my way to my solid gold mansion next to my solid gold lake, when I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane.”
Jim

"The Original Fry Cook" is the first segment of the second episode of season 5, and it is paired with "Night Light." In this episode, Jim visits the Krusty Krab to reminisce old memories, but his methods make SpongeBob think he's going to replace him.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

SpongeBob makes and delivers a Krabby Patty, when Jim arrives in his limousine and everyone runs toward him, crushing SpongeBob and his patty in the process. When Jim enters the Krusty Krab, he along with Mr. Krabs and Squidward reminisce the times when the restaurant had class.

Mr. Krabs shows Jim the Employee of the Month wall where it's revealed that behind all of SpongeBob's awards is Jim's award for being the “Best Employee Ever.” Mr. Krabs starts praising Jim while SpongeBob starts feeling inferior. Later, Jim makes a Krabby Patty. SpongeBob tastes it and absolutely adores it.

He goes up to Jim and asks if he could critique his work. He makes many patties, but Jim constantly points out flaws in them and flushes them down the toilet. SpongeBob becomes upset and thinks Jim will take his job. He writes a letter to Mr. Krabs on toilet paper and when he enters, he hides in the freezer. He makes a joke with Jim, who enters right after, making SpongeBob think Mr. Krabs is offering the job to him.

He comes out right as Mr. Krabs is about to start looking for him, and tells them he will resign as Jim will come back to the kitchen. It turns out he was not going to take his job as he originally left the restaurant as Mr. Krabs did not give him a raise. He says that SpongeBob has something that Jim doesn't, which is that he's cheap, and tells him to get back to work, as Jim leaves.
