"Mrs. Puff, You're Fired" is the second segment of the ninth episode of season 4, and it is paired with "Krusty Towers." In this episode, when SpongeBob fails his boating test again, Mrs. Puff gets fired and is replaced with a stricter teacher.
Mr. Fitz comes to Mrs. Puff's Boating School to tell her if SpongeBob fails his next test, she'll be replaced. He ends up failing his next one, but Mrs. Puff is happy as she'll no longer have to deal with SpongeBob. Later, a stricter teacher replaces Mrs. Puff and discusses the class rules with the students. Everyone but SpongeBob quickly runs out afterward.
He makes SpongeBob crawl through his grueling driving course, but hits a pebble and goes out of control. The teacher afterward gives him a speech about him needing to learn how to crawl. Later, he learns how to crawl and walk barefoot through the course. The teacher makes him learn his boat inside out. He has him take apart the boat and then put it back together again. After doing so, the end result is a rocket.
SpongeBob goes through the course while jogging, only to crash through several cardboard pedestrians. The teacher makes him do the course blindfolded. Several days later, he is able to go through the course blindfolded, and finally drives the boat. He successfully goes through the course using the boat, so later, Mr. Fitz comes and SpongeBob has his real exam. However, the teacher prevents him from using the blindfold as that's illegal.
This causes SpongeBob to go out of control with the boat and cause havoc through Bikini Bottom, and bump into Mrs. Puff along the way. Patrick's pants end up covering SpongeBob's eyes, allowing him to control his driving and park safely. However, Mr. Fitz still considers the test a failure and Mrs. Puff gets rehired as his boating instructor.
