"Rise and Shine" is the first segment of the third episode of season 5, and it is paired with "Waiting" and "Fungus Among Us." In this episode, Patrick gets ready for the day.

Plot[edit]
SpongeBob gets up and wonders how Patrick's mornings are like, as Patrick also wakes up from an alarm clock. This clock continues ringing, making Patrick scared, until he realizes what it is. He laughs at first, but eventually gets annoyed and attacks the lamp, as he thinks it's causing the noise.
He takes off his underwear and puts it on a pillow, and afterwards makes a face on it that looks like SpongeBob's. He asks it where the noise is coming from, but due to it being inanimate, it doesn't answer.
He opens his cabinet, only for all the cans to fall on him. He picks one up and gets mad as he didn't want a picture of food, until he realizes the food is in the can. He tries to get the food to come out, but eventually he gets fed up that the food's not coming out and throws the can, causing it to hit the wall and spill the food out.
He watches TV as he's eating breakfast, but realizes he's late and quickly brushes his teeth, gets his pants, has a bath, and goes outside where SpongeBob is waiting for him so they can hang out.
