"Spongicus" is the first segment of the third episode of season 6, and it is paired with "Suction Cup Symphony." In this episode, Plankton builds a coliseum and holds a gladiator game to reel attention from the citizens of Bikini Bottom.

Plot[edit]
SpongeBob notices Plankton has a wrecking crane outside and tells Mr. Krabs about it. The two hide, but Plankton ends up destroying his own restaurant and replaces it with a coliseum. Everyone comes by after learning they can watch a thrilling gladiator match for free, leaving the Krusty Krab empty.
He along with his employees go into the coliseum to find out what's going on. It is revealed that the victim has to face the lion fish, but the victim himself is Patrick, making SpongeBob worried. Plankton orders blood sausages to be put around Patrick's throat to entice the lion fish.
SpongeBob goes on a chariot pulled by seahorses to save Patrick. The crowd gets annoyed as they want to see violence rather than a chase. Meanwhile, Plankton serves one citizen a chum stick, only for her to dislike it. Everyone starts to leave, only for Plankton to trap them inside and force them to watch the show as he has been longing for this kind of attention.
SpongeBob is still trying to get Patrick away from the lion fish in his chariot, until he realizes it is after the sausages around Patrick's throat, so he throws them away. Unfortunately, it lands on Plankton, and the lion fish chases him out of the coliseum. Later, back at the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs has increased the price for the Krabby Patty to gain more profits.
