“Oh, Patty, I can't let them eat you. Your beauty must be preserved.”
SpongeBob

"To Love a Patty" is the first segment of the seventh episode of season 5, and it is paired with "Breath of Fresh Squidward." In this episode, SpongeBob falls in love with a Krabby Patty.

Characters[edit]

Plot[edit]

SpongeBob is making Krabby Patties at the Krusty Krab, when he makes one extra beautiful and falls in love with it, as well as names it Patty. He gives Squidward all the patties except Patty, but he finds it and takes it to a muscular guy's table. Right before he eats her, SpongeBob takes it back to the kitchen and tells Patty her beauty must be preserved.

He takes her to his house, when Patrick and Sandy come over to hang out with him. However, SpongeBob wants to hang out with Patty and heads out of the house. Later, he starts hanging out with Patty while singing about how much he loves her.

During their six-hour anniversary, Patty has become rotten, but SpongeBob doesn't notice and thinks she just feels sick, so he takes her to the Krusty Krab. At night, he enters and tells Mr. Krabs he has a special date, making him excited. However, he realizes the date is Patty, grosser than ever.

Mr. Krabs doesn't want to seat them, until SpongeBob gives him cash for the manager's treatment. After being seated, Squidward tries to tell him how gross Patty has become, but SpongeBob denies him and says Patty's still beautiful. However, after smelling her, he realizes what she's become. Mr. Krabs tells him Krabby Patties are meant to be loved and eaten, so SpongeBob finally eats Patty.
