The second season of SpongeBob SquarePants began with "Your Shoe's Untied" and "Squid's Day Off" on October 20, 2000 and concluded with "Squid on Strike" and "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm" on September 6, 2002.

Patrick goes to SpongeBob asking him how to tie your shoes and SpongeBob complies. Only for SpongeBob to forget and he goes the rest of the day trying to find out and asking people how to tie your shoe.

When Mr. Krabs goes to the Hospital, Mr. Krabs leaves Squidward in charge of the Krusty Krab. Seeing how no customers go to the restaurant doing Sunday, he takes an opportunity to leave SpongeBob in charge. However he would keep thinking that SpongeBob would somehow destroy the Krusty Krab and eventually keeps going back to the Krusty Krab to check on him.

SpongeBob decides to make an ice cream "sundae" for breakfast using onions, ketchup, and the contents of a nearly dead potted peanut plant which gives him disgusting breath without him knowing.

Mr. Krabs decides its time to give Pearl Krabs ownership of the Krusty Krab because shes on Summer Vacation

When Patrick discovers how much awards SpongeBob has, Patrick becomes disappointed and wants to get the amount of awards SpongeBob has. To try and help him, SpongeBob gives Patrick a job at the Krusty Krab.

On Leif Erikson Day, all of SpongeBob's friends is gone, so SpongeBob decides to make a bubble person named "Bubble Buddy". However this annoys lots of Bikini Bottomites.

Squidward accidentally gives SpongeBob an explosive Pie on Employee Brotherhood Day which he very much regrets. So he hatches a plan to have the last hours of SpongeBobs life be the best one he had ever.

Plankton makes a plan to steal the formula once again. This time, he disguises himself as a robot version of Mr. Krabs to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. However he has to deal with SpongeBob.

SpongeBob and Patrick become friends with a Caterpillar named "Wormy" who lives in Sandy's treedome. however when Wormy uses Metamorphosis to turn into a butterfly, SpongeBob and Patrick think the butterfly is a monster and killed Wormy, leading to chaos in Bikini Bottom.

With the Krusty Krab desperately needing customers, SpongeBob makes Pretty Patties. However he is met with ridicule from Squidward and Mr. Krabs so SpongeBob, along with Patrick, decides to sell Pretty Patties on his own.

When SpongeBob is laughed at because of his kiss from his grandmother, he decides to be more manly along with Patrick. However soon SpongeBob realizes that it was ok to be more kid-like.

Squidward has the last straw with SpongeBob and Patrick as they destroyed his house. Squidward decides to move to another town called "Tentacle Acres" which he believes to be the perfect place for him.

SpongeBob and Sandy decide to do lots of extreme activities throughout Bikini Bottom before Sandy has hibernate. However, the activities Sandy decides to do is too extreme for SpongeBob and tries to hide from her.

SpongeBob and Patrick decides to "borrow" a balloon, before popping the balloon and thinking that they stole it, this makes them go into a life in hideout so that they wont be arrested. However they have One Problem, and its that it's Free Balloon Day.

Sandy teaches SpongeBob about Christmas and how they celebrate it which leads to SpongeBob teaching everybody in Bikini Bottom about the Wonders of christmas, everybody is happy about Christmas with one exception: Squidward.

SpongeBob and Patrick goes into Sandy's Treedome to play with Sandy. However they get trapped in the treedome and they have to survive in the snow-infested dome.

Gary would leave SpongeBob for Patrick, making Spongebob very distressed and trying to get him back and even get new pets to replace Gary.

Mrs. Puff, fed up with SpongeBob, decides to give him his boating license from an "extra-credit exam". However she realizes this was a huge mistake and it could possibly destroy Bikini Bottom and leave her in the blame, so she decides to steal SpongeBob's Boat so that he wont be able to drive the car.

At the Biannual Jellyfish Convention SpongeBob and Patrick see that the Jellyspotters are there, amazed SpongeBob would attempt to join the group.

When Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy go on vacation and leave SpongeBob and Patrick to watch over the Mermalair, SpongeBob and Patrick accidentlly free the most fearsome villain Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy have ever seen; Man Ray.

At the Krusty Krab's new comedy show "Komedy Krab", SpongeBob tries to make a funny joke, but when the audience doesn't laugh at his jokes, he decides to make fun of Sandy which, although makes everybody laugh, makes Sandy very annoyed.

SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs compete against Sandy to find out if land animals are better than sea animals.
